I love computers and technology, and sometimes I really hate it. Like last night I was around at a mates house, Jake, who helps me out with my website when it gets way over my head. We had to update the Zoom gallery because too many bugs had crept in and uploading anything was a real pain in the arse. All was going OK until Jake turn to me and said, “Shit Goba. Think all you pics on the server have been deleted while updating Zoom.” Yeah right mate, I said. But he wasn’t joking hey, which means all of my photos I’ve been uploading gradually over the past 12 months have to be uploaded all over again. Frustrating hey.
So I can’t guarantee how quick this process will take, especially since it’s only a few weeks before I depart for France and have stories to write, stuff to store away and gear to pack. Looks like I will be a busy boy once I arrive in Paris. It will be winter when I arrive so maybe I’ll need something to keep me busy during the day while my partner Andrea shuffles off to work.
My plan is to go to the start of the Dakar in Lisbon early January to score a lift with anyone who has a spare spot for a journo so I can take in all the action. Then as the summer months roll in I’ll meet up with European freestyle riders to see how their scene compares to ours, take in a few MX Grand Prix rounds and look at jumping aboard any trail/adventure ride that comes my way. I’ll be sending stories back to Freerider MX, Trail Bike Adventure and Stroke MX magazines so you’ll be able to check them out as time goes by. I’ll also keep my site updated as soon as something exciting happens on my travels. Please feel welcome to email me to say hi or tell me you have an uncle that owns a Chalet in the French Alpes I can stay at any time. Those emails are always welcome!
So next blog I write should be from a cold winter’s day – but hopefully warm apartment – in Paris. Bummer about the pics hey! |
