Nitro
Circus Live is now done and dusted Down Under for another year, and
once again the tour didn't disappoint. Just when you think you've seen
it all, every new show provided a higher level of insanity – from Andy
Buckworth's Superman Double Front Flip, Mark 'Monz' Monea's 360 Front
Flip, and Special Grag's Special Flip to name a few, the bar just kept
being raised beyond what seems possible. The energy that surrounds the
Nitro Circus athletes is special, with each one of them pushing their
own limits every show to help make it the best action sports show on
earth. The downside to pushing so hard is that sometimes they make
mistakes, and as Steve Mini found out at stop three of the tour in
Canberra one slight miss on a Grab trick sends you falling from the
highest of highs to lowest of lows in 3-seconds flat! We caught up with
Mini the day before he went into hospital for shoulder reconstruction
to talk about his gnarly accident and what affects it will have on his
2011 season.

Cam Sinclair Talks Nitro Carnage |

Cam Sinclair gave his misses Brooke another big scare at Canberra Nitro stop
Canberra stop of the Nitro Circus Live tour provided more spills and
thrills than the promoters would have liked, and by the end of the
night three of their moto stars were horizontal in a hospital bed
either waiting surgery or a diagnosis of their injury. Travis Pastrana
was admitted before the show even got underway, which meant Cam
Sinclair had to step up for the Double that he wasn't scheduled to
attempt again until the Gold Coast stop of the tour. With his head not
fully dialed in he didn't quite get the rotation he needed and escaped
from what could have been a repeat of his near fatal accident in
Madrid, Spain, 18 months earlier. Steve Mini also had one of the
biggest crashes of his career, and was also lucky to be carted off with
not-so-serious injuries. We caught Cam on the phone as he was heading
home to rest up to find out actually what went down in what was one of
the craziest Nitro Circus shows to date!

Last weekend I teamed up with a bunch of old mates (Gary "Gazza" Blizzard, Justin "Bushy" Bush, and Mark "Browny" Brown) to contest the inaugural Transmoto 12Hr race at Lyndon "Heffo" Heffernan's property west of Batemans Bay. Now when I say old I mean two things, 1. We've known each other for a hell of a long time, 2. Gaz and I have marched into our 40s while Bushy and Browny are not too far behind! We entered the team of four class as "the Flyin Fourskins" thanks to Bushy's creativity on that one, and as it turned out we didn't do too bad finishing fifth overall and third in our class out of 75 teams. Yeah we still got it!

A Lot Of Carry On! ... An Interview With Mark Monea
Just
when people started talking about the sport of freestyle's trick
evolution slowing down an unknown rider comes out of the woodwork and
throws down what looks like one of the most exciting tricks to manifest
for a long time, being the 'Carry On' by Victorian rider Mark "Monz"
Monea. Monz is no stranger to those in the know though as he has
wrenched for Cam Sinclair and was by his side when he had that near
fatal accident in Madrid, Spain, 2009, and he is a part of the
Southside crew, which includes another Aussie FMX legend Blake "Bilko"
Williams. With those two on his side doors are already swinging wide
open with Monz heading to Newcastle to throw his trick down on the
Nitro Circus Live tour when we interviewed him.
Read what he had to say as he heads to what will be no doubt one of the hugest nights of his about-to-begin freestyle career.

Kiwi FMX sensation and super-laid-back-dude Levi Sherwood has not long stepped off a successful return to the sport touring with the Nitro Circus crew in his home land of New Zealand. As he gears up for the season ahead, which includes his first comp back from injury at this weekend's Farm Jam, and then some serious training for the first Red Bull X-Fighters round in Dubai, we pulled him aside to chat about the Nitro tour, how he's feeling being back on the bike, and what's his focus for 2011.

Jacko with his girl Amy at the Madrid round of Red Bull X-Fighters in Spain last year
Any
rider who attempts a front flip must be a little loco. It has to be one
of the most hit-and-miss tricks in the business as a select few have
found out. Hit you're a legend, miss you're one sore puppy -- and as
young Aussie FMX rider Jackson 'Jacko' Strong has found out over the
past 12 months that executing a forward flip ain't the easiest trick in
the book. Strong dedicated most of his 2010 season trying to perfect
the front flip, and after many scary mishaps he finally looked to have
it dialed towards the end of the Australia Crusty Demons tour, where he
rode away from it in Sydney for only the second time on tour.
Now
we're looking down the barrel of the 2011 season and it's time for
riders to lock in their plans for the year ahead. Will Jacko continue
where he left off? Did his regular tricks suffer after putting in too
much time into the front flip? What bike is he riding in 2011? Why
isn't he in America riding the Nuclear Cowboyz Tour? We pulled him
aside to find out the answers to these questions and more 'right here'
